Bought this for a non-tech savvy friend. I bought this device because it came with Android TV as the operating system. Last night I brought it to his house to install. I have no idea what OS is here. It's a mess. Couldn't do it. Looks like some sort of hacked pirated android. Otherwise I have no idea. It can be used to stream free content. You know, Pluto, cw seed, Jody yadda, yadda, yadda. I have about a dozen applications on my NVIDIA shield that I want to install for it. The Shield runs on the "TV" version of Android, which has its own app store. This device has the default App Store installed. Few of the apps I try to install from the regular app store work. By stating that they are incompatible with the installed operating system. All right, that's fine. So I'm trying to install the app store for the tv version of the app store. Well, that is also incompatible with the operating system. So I'm trying to download some apps from the regular Android and Android TV app stores. You will be surprised how many are incompatible with the installed operating system. Let's see, regular Android apps are not compatible and Android TV apps are not compatible. So I have to wonder what version of Android is installed. The hardware seems fine. I'll try to install a legitimate operating system here. If it doesn't work I'll send it back. I will never buy anything from this manufacturer again.
