Useless for HBO Max

I bought this to watch HBO Max. Initial setup went well, but when I added the HBO Max app, I found that I had to put the remote in "mouse mode" to navigate the app. And when I tried to enter my HBO Max password (which contains numbers), I couldn't select any numbers. I could type letters but not numbers. In mouse mode, the device does not work very well. For now, I still mirror the screen from my phone when I want to watch HBO Max. Firmware too strict, internal manual for my advanced usage needs.

The device is apparently designed for beginners and is not very suitable for an advanced Android TV Box user. Possibly an adequate performer for a beginner. The product did not allow you to install an alternative launcher (rootless launcher), a home screen with additional functions. Forget the home screen to add the must-have widget to show local weather for 5 days. Also, this TV box does not accept the installation of "Space Journey Live Wallpaper" with a rating of 4.9 stars. Seems pretty good for the price but there are a few things to look out for:

. If this TV box works pretty well, definitely better than most devices like Chinese tablets that use the same or similar chipsets as the one inside. NOT 4K. Not UHD. Not Android 10. Not H265

It only took me 2 minutes to realize that this thing is the epitome of false advertising. This is Android 8 boot animation. Not Android 10. It is NOT showing 4K. No matter what resolution you set, 1280x720 will ALWAYS be output. No more pixels. Definitely not UHD. H265 movies cannot be decoded. The remote is crap - no play/pause/skip buttons. Easy setup out of the box. Good quality picture.

What a great box. I've had about 5 TV boxes over the years and this is by far the best of them all. The box was already set up and ready to use. As soon as I connected it to the TV, it was ready to use. The operating system is smooth and easy to navigate. It was easy for me to set it up so that my favorite apps appear at the top of the screen. The internet connection was also easy to set up. After adjusting the settings the way I wanted, I immediately started watching TV. Easily 5/5 stars.

Good but needs a lot of work

I bought it to stream movies on Netflix and use Kodi but the system inside is very slow and when running Kodi the RAM doesn't last. Looking at the specs, you would assume that this is a great powerful processor with enough RAM for multitasking and running normal programs, but even Netflix or Anazon Video doesn't work properly. That's crap. The mobile UI it launches always has 3 navigation buttons at the bottom. Not on this and cannot be added. The screen continues to expand haphazardly, making the power and settings buttons out of place. It turns off, but the only way to turn it back on is to unplug it and plug it back in. The Ethernet port is useless. I have a speed of 600 Mbps, but this port only allows 15 (100 Mbps are declared). I figured this all out in 6 days so who knows what else he might have trouble with…

Bought this for a non-tech savvy friend. I bought this device because it came with Android TV as the operating system. Last night I brought it to his house to install. I have no idea what OS is here.
