PROS: - heat resistant (takes almost boiling water perfectly when brewed) - nice and thick, spritz when almost full, although with practice you'll learn how to do this with minimal/no clutter. - The lid is not completely closed. It's ok if you just flip it once/twice, but it won't take a lot of shaking. - Lack of a handle (although this is very slight as you can hold it by the neck fairly securely and even when the contents are hot the jug is too thick to burn your hand). The previous jug I bought from Amazon for this purpose, an Italian one with a plastic lid, was fine but cracked after 10 uses from hot water. no problems with adding near boiling water to a jug or other problems. All in all a pretty decent pitcher that I would recommend.
