I bought these along with the original wet brush. I was very afraid of both. Having coarse, afro-textured hair, the amount of bristles scared me. I fall out A LOT on my own, but I always lose a lot of hair when detangling, so I have to be very picky with my detangling tools. In fact, I had a lot more hope for this brush than the original, but I was dead wrong. The original is a goddamn gift I'm sooooo excited about, I JUST discovered it when straight people have been praising it for years! When I think about growing my hair to mid-back and it makes me boil, haha. On the other hand, it's too complicated. Even holding both in my hands, I noticed a slight difference in the flexibility of the bristles. They both looked the same in a good way, although this brush (I thought it was) had slightly stiffer bristles. With the added Flex Spine, I was thrilled. But no matter how wet and conditionered my hair was, I just couldn't get it through my ends without feeling like it was about to break! My hair is obviously wrong. The individual strands are VERY thick and wiry. *Shedding* has always been my nemesis, not *breaking*. All in all, Issa is not for me.
