I had a recurrent infection after a tooth extraction that a doctor prescribed antibiotic mouthwash did not help. He recommended that I rinse my mouth out with salt water several times a day. I hate gargling with salt water so I decided to give it a try. This is by far the most confusing usage. To explain, I bought an arctic ocean flavor and expected a minty flavor when I put it in my mouth. It tastes like salt water (albeit a little more bearable than what I cooked), but the odd thing is that you get a cool minty sensation in your mouth when you rinse it, but no minty flavor. My brain just couldn't figure out why it tasted like plain salt water, but I felt refreshed. Very strange but he did his job and healed my infection and that was the whole point.
