Much better than stock

The soundbar I bought came with 'cables' which means the company added the cheapest they had. The main reason I bought this cable was its length. The one that came with the soundbar was too short for my application. I honestly wasn't expecting much because sometimes a cable is just a cable. Well, compared to the standard cable I received, this cable is much better. Freebie shielding was brittle and flimsy. The shielding in the BlueRigger was a much better material and the cable was at least three times thicker. It promises to protect against RFI and judging by its thickness I'm sure it has improved RFI over stock. I didn't do extensive testing, but I remember some RFI junk that wasn't present with this cable. The cable connectors on the BlueRigger are also better than the standard connectors. Plugging in cheap cables didn't have the snug, secure fit I get with these. I'm sure there can be much better optical cables on the market but for the money they do the job perfectly and I've had no problems. And just FYI, don't get carried away by the "gold connectors" that some optical cables offer. When it comes to wired audio cables, connectors can (and do) make a big difference, and gold connectors sell dearly. This is because the audio signal actually goes through the connector. With optical cables, the material of the connector is irrelevant. Would you rather plug a sharp-edged metal connector into the optical port on your $2,000 TV, or plastic on plastic? Hope this review helps.
