I am a notary and I bought it on the recommendation of other experts in the field, so based on other reviews, take it with caution . Salt. I bought this printer brand new and after 8 months my drum broke. However, under the manufacturer's warranty I call Brother and think they will send me a drum no problem or just replace it outright. Everyone would be fine. Instead, they force me to troubleshoot with all these different fixes that I've already told the customer service representative about. Did all this just to let me know the drum only has a 90 day warranty! Why build a car and just say that some of them are covered by a full warranty and some aren't. Luckily I bought an extended warranty from Asurion and they are now replacing the entire machine. Brother really lost the ball. With a 90 day guarantee I can only assume they knew the drum wouldn't last the full 12 months. Based on this experience alone, I will never buy anything Brother related again. However, the choice is yours.
