For a run of 52,700, I changed the drum unit twice, once by replacing the drum unit, the second time by replacing it with a compatible one. And about 7 non-original TN3480 Busf and ColorWay cartridges. It is sensitive to the quality of cartridges, refilled ones can print normally, or they can immediately fail. It's easier to install new compatible ones than to refill. Now there are G&G "penguin" cartridges, they are more expensive, but on the first impression they are better, but we'll see.

UPDATE: I've had this printer for a little over two years now. I wrote about 130,000 pages on it and it's still holding up. I replaced the drum a while ago, but with so many pages, that's to be expected. The only problem I had is that sometimes I get a message that there is no paper in the top tray even though there is no paper. However, this was solved by not filling the top compartment to the very top; Now I leave out about 1/4 inch from the fill line and it works with no issues. I print…
