Exactly what I needed. As you can see from my photos, it's big enough to hold a Sonos Play:1 speaker. First of all, I would like to point out that the stability of the shelf depends on the socket used. The one I had was old and cracked so I didn't trust it to hold my speaker. I first bought one of those "unbreakable" plastic bottles from a big store. They are too fragile to make the shelf stable. In the end I decided on metal. It was the hardest I could find. It cost a few bucks more but now I feel like this shelf will fit my expensive speaker and not fall off the wall. I'll try to include a photo of the outlet cover I used. Note the dimensions of the socket cover - the "Jumbo" in stores is too wide for this shelf. You want one that is no wider than 5 inches. Mine is just as wide.
