Check how much power it uses

At $32 this is a great device. Keeps me warm at my WFH table without costing much. I never thought about how much electricity it uses and what else is on the same circuit in my house. I connected it to a 20 amp circuit shared with my living room outlets. That means the circuit breaker will trip when it reaches 20 amps, but you also need to keep continuous use below 80% of maximum, ie 16 amps. Watts/volts = amps, so if it's running at 1500 watts/120 volts, it's already 12.5 amps. I've only run it on lower settings, it only seems to draw 900 watts which is 7.5 amps. But then add my computer and monitor (6.67 amps + 1.2 amps) plus a small amount from my WiFi and other TV/audio gear and the switch hits the 80% threshold. I'm not an electrician, I hardly know how to do this and of course my computer doesn't always use the full amount, otherwise this system wouldn't work at all. But my switch trips 1-2 times a week when the heat is on, and my monitor does these half-second "rests" during the day, probably because it doesn't have enough power. TLDR: Make sure you don't have anything serious. in the same circuit as this heater and everything will be fine.
