As long as I like it! - Camera and Photo

Brief information about me: I am a professional wedding photographer, shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and have a 580 ex II flash. Even though I have 3 large flashes for general lighting I wanted to take my flash off the camera as it is MUCH easier to carry. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and this product was fine. The reviews were very budget friendly. I found some of the YouTube videos helpful and finally decided to grab them. It works exactly as advertised. Easy to set up and diffuses the light very well. The fact that it comes with a mesh is a great added feature. Everything comes in a carry case which is a nice plus. Otherwise there is not much to say. So far I like it very much. You get what you pay for. For $35 it does what I need. I firmly believe that you don't have to spend $150 on good softboxes to take great photos. ONE WARNING: Be VERY careful when opening the body of the softbox which folds like a folding reflector. Yes, you can roll down the shell like a reflector. This thing is foldable, so small it's great for storing away, but when you open the softbox case it just pops open because there's so much tension in there I nearly punched myself in the face. Without blaming the product I just warn you to be careful when opening the product.

Pros
  • One (1) detachable grille, one (1) carrying case
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived
