A real softbox is a very good light modifier. There is an inner baffle suspended from the walls, equipped with an egg crate grille and a round mask on the front. It's all solid. However, the mount you use to attach the box to a light stand is pretty cheap. It's stamped metal, and the ball head you use to tilt this thing has a ridiculously small handle. Since there is a lot of weight on the pivot, you *really* need to squeeze it to keep it from moving, which is difficult for such a small handle.
