Love this jacket! Wanted a versatile jacket and this is perfect. Suitable for everything from leaf raking to evening strolls with the girls. I washed it in warm water, hung it to dry and then fluffed it in the dryer on low heat. Already has the feel of velvety denim and significantly reduces the stiffness of new denim. The color is black rather than problematic. I'm 5ft 5in and 150lbs, medium size fits well. Doesn't run too big on a t-shirt, but I can also wear it comfortably over a sweatshirt. I find most denim jackets for women to be too short but this one is just below the hip which is perfect. It has front pockets but they can be sewn shut so as other reviewers have mentioned just use a seam ripper to open them. There is a slight odor, presumably from the dyeing process (smells like a new Carhartt) but this has faded somewhat after the first wash and I expect it to soften after a few washes. If you are looking for a casual jacket, try this one.
