I've made quite a few Christmas villages this time of year and I love the fluffy iridescent snow as a finishing touch. I like how it sparkles in the light, how cities come alive. I sprinkle it all over and place heaps around the bases of the trees, people and other accessories to create snowdrifts and hide the bases. Then, as I drive through the villages, I dump the shiny blankets of snow and buffalo snowpack into a large zip-top plastic bag to clear as much of the snow as possible for use next year. Sure, it can be a little messy and you'll end up with snow on the ground, but the effect is worth it.
