This is my first experience with a robot vacuum so my expectations may have been too high. I have about 1000 square feet on the ground floor, tile and wood with carpets. Overall it cleans a lot better than I expected when it hits the crowd. But there are two downsides. Poor cleaning of the baseboard. His evasion algorithm won't let him get close, but only from time to time. And often gets stuck. And even more often he cannot return to his base. I was hoping I could let it go and get out of the house. I can not. There seem to be two things that are causing it to get stuck. Sweepers are placed under carpets unless they are very heavy. The vacuum comes from above, so it gets stuck there. An acoustic signal is usually emitted. I can hear it in most parts of the house so I can move it and start over. Another case is my narrow passage between wall and table. The trail is about 6 feet long and several feet wide. There is a direct exit and a couple of exits under the table. It looks like he has to find a way out, but apparently he sees the table leg and turns around, even though he didn't get very close to it. So this little area just randomly goes back and forth forever. I have to listen to this and restore it or it will drain the battery and shut off. And when this happens early in the cycle, that small area of carpet wears out badly. I have to lock down this whole area. All in all, this means that I often have to manually vacuum, not only for extra cleaning, but also to cover up missing areas. If I had to repeat it I would spend the extra money to buy a unit that follows the map. It requires too much babysitting. This saves some work, but less than I expected. However, I have to admit that it vacuums very well, which it covers and covers most of the areas that tend to collect the most dirt - the dining area and doorways. And it reduces the frequency of manual cleaning. Update: 12/30/20 I have resigned and downgraded my rating from 3 to 2 stars. For a few months it got stuck about 2/3 of the time. And about half the time he got stuck he didn't know it, so he sucked the same spot over and over again. It did some damage. I decided to use it, I would have to watch it very closely. So I don't recommend it for most people. I replaced it with a Roomba i6+. Navigation on the i6 is much better. With 2 months of use 2 times a week it didn't get stuck. On the other hand, the i6 doesn't clean that well overall. And since the i6 is bigger, it doesn't fit a couple of chairs. Bottom line, the Bagotte might be a good vacuum for a simple space with no obstructions, but it's not for our house.
