Review on 🚰 Gravity-Fed Purification Elements for Travel Berkey by Todd Stovall

Bought this filter in May 2016 after studying filtration systems. The Berkey Travel fits perfectly into our countertop. The product arrived in perfect condition and we immediately felt the difference in our water. Unfortunately, one of the filters had a defect in the plastic threads, causing the washer that holds the filter in the upper chamber to break. I did my best to clean up the faulty threads and bought a replacement washer to hold the filter in place with just enough tension to create a seal. When I did the red dye test, the water was pink. on both filters. Sad face. I have washed and primed both filters several times but the rose water is still flowing. A cursory search revealed that Berkey Black filters are known to have manufacturer defects. We will continue to use this system, but probably with 7" Doulton filters instead of the Berkey Black filters included in the kit. It's cheaper and if all goes well the water is actually filtered.
