This kit comes with a 9 day supply of whitening gel, although the instructions say this should be done within 7 days. I ended up working all 9 days, but at the end I will explain how I did it. There's a trick and I wish I'd figured it out by day three, but better late than never, right? This has worked for me personally, but may not produce the same results for everyone. I would also like to add that I have healthy teeth that whiten well. Hope that helps! **Before the treatment** I lightly brush my teeth with charcoal (3-5 minutes). I have a jar I bought here at Revain for about $4 that lasts forever. The charcoal helps remove stains from the teeth, and removing stains first helps the gel penetrate better. TA Dah! Rinse your mouth to remove the charcoal (I use warm water because I'm impatient) and then floss well. **Time to heal** Seriously, just follow the instructions. They are easy to understand and don't take long. Oh, and grab a little towel because if you're like me you'll be drooling minutes before the lights go out and it'll feel like forever. Ha!**After the treatment**brush your teeth with your favorite toothpaste and you're done. Due to the amount of brushing I use an ultra soft toothbrush. I split the treatment a bit because my gums and teeth got sensitive around day 6 which is normal for me so I waited a few days before starting the last 3 treatments. Next time I'll make a split into 5 and 4, but of course you can adjust it to your liking. Stupidly, I forgot to take a picture beforehand, but I got a lot of compliments. I started with a solid 5 on the tooth chart they gave you but now I'm at around a 2 or 3. To be honest it depends on the lighting. I've read a lot of reviews about the lights not working, but I haven't had this problem yet. I'll find out in a few months when I do it again. Overall, I don't think I would have achieved these results if I hadn't taken the extra steps, but I would probably say the same about any other whitening gel supplier. This was on sale when you bought it, but is still available at the normal price. On its own that would probably give me 1 shade, but using just the charcoal method would only get me 1 that I know for sure (which is why I have the charcoal in the first place). The 2 methods together really made a difference.
