I thought cup holes were the best idea until we tried them. Whether you use the included cups or regular individual cups, the holes are too close together, causing the tops of the cups to overlap slightly! Also, they sit so deep it's weird. Another annoyance... when you remove the cup there is only one hole left and the balls keep falling through and we have to chase them! We ended up covering the holes with a baking sheet and putting the mugs in! The lights on it were great though - a nice touch for the outdoor Halloween party we had. I just wish it was more functional.
