I needed a little more security for my sliding patio door as it only has a basic door lock and hinge bar to prevent the door from opening. open. So I reinforced this hinge bar with a big pin to keep it from being hacked or opened and installed this sliding door hinge locking block on my rear sliding door. Pretty easy to install, it took me maybe 10 minutes to drill the holes after drawing with a pencil where to drill the holes and after that I installed 2 parts [1 part directly on the sliding door itself and another part on the frame of the sliding door around the sliding door and overall very easy to assemble and works well! I feel a little more secure using this lock and I use it all the time in addition to the lockable drop bar and regular sliding door lock. A simple 5 star rating for this worthwhile item.
