Review on Gorilla Zipper Door Containment Zipper Heavy-Duty 2 Pack: Premium Door Sealing Solution by Robert Smith

Loss of adhesion in less than 1 month

Installed literally 1 month ago (built on greenhouse and pond tent with 6 mil greenhouse viscosity in early November. I have to say there were no instructions, no advanced experience, nothing but a bag) and 2 zippers. After 3 weeks it was noticed that one side of the pull tab at the top of the zipper was losing support. Yesterday I went to the service pond and found that the glue did not work at all, the stickiness is zero, the flash was on the bottom. 25F and 72F since installation Daily highs in the greenhouse can approach 90. Nothing to see at the construction site. I will say that when I first installed it I felt the glue requirements were already questionable, not very sticky. The only thing that ever seemed to stick well to the glue was the "inner" zipper, which kept getting tangled between the plastic and the zipper webbing and getting stuck in the glue. When using this product you will need to remove about 1/4 inch of the material you attached it to to prevent the zipper or material it is on from getting 1 stuck in the zipper 2 if the ball gets stuck in the glue. Now I expect if someone says "you used that outside" if I put it in a greenhouse/pond, the constant humidity would soak the zipper fabric which would surely speed up failure, not to mention I really doubt it The glue sticks to condensation. I no longer buy this product. I'm shocked Gorilla products didn't go to these guys for intellectual property infringement) if it was made with Gorilla's glue I bet they'd hold up much better.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
