Good choice for most home users

This is a very functional router at a very reasonable price. The Wi-Fi range is as good as any router I've used and I've used several of them. For most users, easy setup and wireless connectivity are just what they need. This may not be suitable for advanced users with very specific requirements. Here are some impressions:* The iOS app is very easy to use. You can set this thing up in less than 5 minutes. Even though it says it's not connected after a reboot, it might not. This router replaced my cable company's router, so I set it up with the same SSID and password that was already defined on my devices. It connected immediately, and selecting the router after saying it wasn't connected shows that it was indeed. I was up and running quickly.* Both the app and the configuration website are very easy to use thanks to supporting technologies. I'm blind and use VoiceOver, the screen reader that comes built into every Mac and iThing. Although there were a few buttons with somewhat strange labels, the app was intuitive and I was able to use the site once I understood its structure. Note: When you select a customization option on the website, the configuration is in a box at the bottom of the page. * Features external adjustable antennas. seven of them. Regardless of how you orient your router, you can rotate and orient the antennas to better align them for your installation. The only thing I would like to see is that in a future version the antennas will be detachable, with RP-SMA connectors so they can be replaced with higher gain antennas. However, this is sufficient.* Please note that not all configuration options on the website are available in the iOS app. Some things like port forwarding (this router calls them virtual servers) are not available in the app. A few things I would like to see differently or improve: * There is an option for DDNS on the configuration website. However, when you select it, no DDNS configuration options appear. Looks like they started implementing it but never finished it. * You may not be able to change the DNS from the DNS provided by DHCP from your ISP. I'm not sure yet. In most cases this is not a problem. * Port forwarding: You cannot specify the port range. For example, I have an application that uses ports 5198-5200. Port 5200 forwards both TCP and UDP, and the rest only forward UDP. So with this router I need three forwarding definitions instead of two.* One thing I liked about my ISP-supplied router that I miss about this router is a handy table that shows the signal strength of each wireless device in DBM. Granted, most people don't care and are mostly just curious, but this information can help in better aiming the antenna. * Please note that 802.11AC is only available on the 5GHz network. * Finally, this router does not show devices with static IP addresses in any device list. While you can reserve IP addresses for propagation to specific devices, if you have a device with a static IP address it will certainly connect, but it won't show up as a connected device. I think once you've identified it, you know it's there. I can't comment on the documentation, although I suspect it only covers the basics. The PDF only has graphics, so I couldn't read it. But the router was so easy to install and set up that I didn't really need it. I want things to be changed or improved that most people probably don't care about or that most people aren't interested in. have any use. At $79, this is a very good deal.
