John Deere wanted about $200 for a John Deere 318 fuel pump. This fits perfectly, pumps great (solved my problem) and costs about $15 including a new fuel pump. It's physically a little smaller than the original, but the ports and mounting holes are identical. The only problem I had installing it had nothing to do with the fuel pump; Apparently John Deere forgot to make a hole to access one of the bolts in the heat shield. Besides, it was a quick fix. I actually had to top it up the first time: hold your thumb over the PCV valve, crank the engine for about 15-30 seconds, then quickly release it. After that, it always starts the first time.
