Bad power supply for internal components

I bought this power supply VN500W about 9 months ago. 6 months later it failed. The power button on the front of my tower was blinking and the computer wouldn't turn on, indicating a possible power outage, among other things. I fixed the problem and everything pointed to either the MOBO or the power supply being the cause of the problem. I contacted Apevia and after a few emails back and forth I got them to send me a new one. I installed a new one and the computer booted up fine for a day and then started shutting itself down after a few minutes. The next day it didn't stay on for more than 30 seconds at a time. Thinking that maybe it was the MOBO that was causing the problems after all, I bought a different brand of power supply (EVGA) with the intention of returning it if it wasn't fixed. my problems. Two weeks after installing a new power supply, the problems did not recur. everything is fixed So my first purchase of Apevia took 6 months before failing and my second was DOA. This is the cheapest PSU manufacturer on the market for a reason. They are made of cheap parts that don't last long. I recommend paying a little more for a more reputable brand and saving yourself the headache of troubleshooting and RMAs that may or may not fix the problem. I added an extra star because the warranty process was pretty painless and they came and sent me another unit for free. They even paid for shipping.
