My kids have been known to tear down any gate that isn't bolted to the wall. Other than that, I'm so happy I saw them! I now have an almost 12 week old puppy and our kitchen is the only safe place inside where he can be cleaned up quickly and easily in the event of an accident. I use these with sliding gates in two openings in my kitchen and they work wonders to stabilize the gate! My three kids, who normally tear down gates like this, can't do it now! Huge bonus as the management of my apartment doesn't want to drill into their walls! I wish I had known her a long time ago! Saved me a ton of money and many hours cleaning up my nasty kids mess in my kitchen.
