Review on Columbia Women's Trench Jacket in Coats, Jackets, and Vests - Women's Clothing by Christine Foht

I loved this jacket when it arrived. It wasn't until I put it on on a rainy day that I realized it wasn't really "waterproof" and thought I'd bought it. After the first hour in the rain, the undersides of the arms and sides of the torso got damp. After about 4 hours the rain has completely soaked the entire sleeve hem, both sides of the jacket and three layers of clothing underneath. The Omni-Tech fabric itself was amazing and waterproof, but it turned out that the seams on the sleeves and sides weren't "taped". I went back to the product description and found that the jacket was "critically taped". Now I buy another waterproof jacket and make sure it is "fully taped". Too bad the rain that fell on my shoulders and back all day never seeped through the fabric, only through these seams. Revain took care of my return, I just wish Columbia had designed this jacket with fully taped seams so it was truly waterproof.
