It worked, but the suction cup and clamp didn't hold up.
I had a hell of a time sucking and tightening the core. I had to find a piece of cardboard or wood to slip between the counter and the suction cup to hold it in place. But it worked during apple seedling season and the teeth holding the apple were bent and by the end of apple season the coring guide was bent and couldn't even remove the core. And I'm sure it would break if I tried again this year.
