Review on Contrast Matte White Manual Screen by Nick Cleary

After hearing and reading about DaLite in various places I decided to try it for my home theater. I ordered the screen and when it was carefully installed to specification (using professional equipment including spirit levels) I was very disappointed to see that the fabric did not hang properly and there were ripples on the viewing surface. It's not easy to contact DaLite service (despite their warranty) as they insist you contact the dealer and the dealer usually doesn't understand the issues or doesn't respond adequately. Anyway, they finally sent me a replacement screen. I figured I'd forgive and forget their original faulty batch (we all make mistakes, after all). So, with positive thoughts, I opened and reinstalled the second screen with great care and time. Guess the problem wasn't just that, it was WORSE this time. This tells me that this company's manufacturing process is poorly controlled and their quality controls are minimal or non-existent. It seems that a near-monopoly situation actually leads to complacency and inferior standards. So unfortunately I recommend everyone to look elsewhere for a quality product rather than spending a lot of time on installation and customer service due to a poorly manufactured product.
