Buy a size down for basic collars

Our Goldendoodle is 11 inches tall and at 5 months he has an average height fitting 10-16 inches according to the size chart. THIS IS TOO BIG! Thank goodness it's getting bigger and it should fit right in over the next few months. Ordered the SMALL one, it should fit and do its job properly. Would have given 5 stars if the size had been right from the start. For this, better use this martingale collar softer breeds. Our Rottweilers use choke chains (Made in Germany). Should have taken the advice of other reviews who recommended buying a size down. At "full pull" the collar of this size compresses into a normal collar with enough room for two fingers. With other future dogs that will show up in our house, there is no problem with another collar for future use. Pros: Strong plastic clasp which most martingales don't have, high quality vinyl straps, thick chrome plated metal rings. Show r as soon as Small arrives. Update: The Small has arrived and fits snugly with just enough slack to allow our dog's neck to grow an inch more. I'm so excited, now that it's the right size we've ordered a second one in purple to add to her wardrobe! UPDATE: The small size has arrived and the collar works as it should. As our standard size Goldendoodle is around 6 months old this collar should be fine until she is a year old and then the medium originally ordered if they are just as effective. The first photo is medium, the second is small, where at "full thrust" you can feel compression with no room for fingers. Wife wants them to be the small 1" size as she thinks wider collar will make her dog cuter! With the 3/4" size, I am very satisfied. I'll try to get purple for Christmas with the right leash. I enjoy giving my wife canine surprises. For the same amount of happiness she gets, it's a lot cheaper for my pocket than a purse, clothes or shoes!
