I have a well built XRC GEN 3 winch and it suits me perfectly. Tight when tightening but I have up to 80 on the track and have no issues with that. The lid does not move, inside there is a UV-resistant lining. It wears out fairly quickly in the sun, although it's holding up pretty well. Expect a year to a year and a half of use before it gets too badly damaged by the sun. While this may sound bad, it outperforms any other winch cover as the price is very good. The rubber band stretched around the winch also holds up well. Definitely buy if you have synthetic rope (it extends lifespan). Also keeps the winch clean and protected from dust and water. It's water repellent to a point, not fully repellent, but the drops don't penetrate right away.
