I have used several canvas winch covers over the past 10 years and they all wore out quickly. Usually, under the influence of the sun, they fade and become brittle. I bought this case because of the durability it promised. Well, the manufacturer was honest when they claimed that this case is going to be a long time coming. I'm over a year old and the cover is still in perfect condition. Does not fade in the sun, does not crack, tactile sensations do not change. This is one of my best purchases.

Does what it's supposed to. It covers my winch properly and overall it's a great product for the money. My reason for 4 stars is that after 3 months on my jeep it has already faded to a deep purple. I understand that sitting in direct sunlight all day is very hard on the material. I just thought it would hold up better than cosmetically. Otherwise it works great and I have no practical problems with it.

I was immediately impressed by the quality and type of material used. It looks great and I'm sure it will protect just as well. BUT. The item is very difficult to put on and take off. I have a Smittybilt XRC 9500 with a side mount solenoid and the cap is very difficult to put on and take off. It looks great on top and covers the entire winch. It's very tight and I have to move it inch by inch as I put it on and take it off. I don't know if I would buy it again.

I bought this bag to replace my old neoprene bag which had faded to a purplish white in the sun (if you've seen the old wet Lux, you know what I mean say). I park my jeep in a fairly shady spot, so honestly it doesn't get much sun when I'm not driving. Anyway, after only a few months, this "black" case is now purple even in the sun. And it's not even the peak of the summer months. I know the sun can damage fabrics quickly, but I wish it was longer than just a few months in spring.

The item was sent and arrived on time, the material is of good quality and corresponds to the description. The cover on my Smittybilt XRC 9500 is synthetic rope and fits perfectly. The elastic band is thick enough to hold the case in place, but not too thick to interfere with donning and doffing. I have a well built XRC GEN 3 winch and it suits me perfectly. Tight when tightening but I have up to 80 on the track and have no issues with that. The lid does not move, inside there is a UV-resistant lining. It wears out fairly quickly in the sun, although it's holding up pretty well. I put 4 for durability due to fading. Don't complain that it's faded, but as long as you know before you buy. My Jeep stays parked outside so that's to be expected.
