Good project for the day

I purchased this item for a 2015 Prius C that was purchased and installed in Canada while visiting a friend in the US. This took a couple of hours with the help of a friend, and I'd definitely recommend getting a panel removal kit (for about $12, a five-piece kit will do). Installed after testing the camera on the radio from the radio to the back door to avoid unnecessary fishing and cable pulling. Overall, this was a perfectly satisfactory do-it-yourself setup, but be sure to plan ahead before jumping in. A note on the installation video: Depending on your Prius model, it will be obvious where to mount the camera and how to drill the hole for it. deviate from the video recommended by the manufacturer for verification. The video has a removable snap-in piece that the installer easily drills out and removes. My model didn't have that, so in my case the easiest way was to remove the license plate light cover, drill a hole to the left of the left license plate, mount the camera and get in the car just under the left license plate seal. We didn't remove the tape from the included camera surface seal until after we had completed the complete installation of the internal cables, so we could easily point the camera left and right so a person standing squarely in the middle of the back would appear squarely in the middle of the back. camera.Camera works on my machine as advertised without a single wire cut and looks good from the back.
