I recently bought a Proviz Reflect360 jacket to be more visible in the dark during the winter months when I'm cycling to and from work drive. I'll start by saying that I have a love-hate relationship with Proviz Reflect360 and all the other reviews you've read about it are true, both good and bad. I just want to highlight a few aspects of these reviews. "Good" - I would probably say "Great". This jacket is highly reflective. On my first day, when I was wearing a jacket while driving in the dark, a guy walking past me stopped and wanted to talk to me. He asked about my "crazy jacket". I told him about the jacket and then asked how light it was. He replied that he "could see me more than ยผ mile away" and that I was "ALL LIGHTED". He was very interested in the jacket and wanted to know where I bought it, how much it costs and how it fits. That's why I bought the jacket. After too many close encounters driving in the dark, this man's comments were exactly what I wanted to hear. The Bad I read reviews that said the breathability of this jacket is poor. This is an understatement. This jacket is a sauna. Doesn't breathe at all. Yes, it has vents on the back below the shoulder, vents under the arms, and in a pinch you can unzip the front to let in more air. That is not enough. At the end of every ride I have to turn my jacket inside out to dry. he is wet My morning rides are cool with temperatures of 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit and my evening rides are in the 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I understand that everyone sweats differently, but their jacket is a sauna. I would say the comfort of wearing this jacket for a trip below 50 degrees Fahrenheit would be. Anything higher and you notice that your hands and body are sweating and you need to cool down. Opening the front and underarm zippers doesn't help much. In fact, on a recent trip, I unzipped the front and my glasses fogged up. Yes, it's that bad. Some other minor things I noticed is that the jacket is a bit heavy and stiff for cycling. This is the result of all the tiny glass beads attached to the material giving you that awesome reflectivity. That means you can't take it off and stow it rolled up in the back pocket of your jersey. Maybe in a backpack, but not in a t-shirt. Conclusion As I mentioned before, I have a love/hate relationship with this jacket. I really like that knowing drivers can see me makes me feel safe. This is not only a comfort to me, but also to my wife and family. What I struggle with is how hot this jacket is. This is a mobile sauna. If you are a wrestler looking to lose weight then Proviz Reflect360 is for you. If you ride in temperatures below 50 degrees or below you should be fine. I know this jacket comes in a more breathable Reflect360+ version, but it's more than twice the price. It's also offered in a vest, but I like having the extra reflectivity in my hands. I want to be seen by as many drivers as possible. Am I glad I bought it? That's an excellent question. How do you react to a love/hate situation? What would be cool would be a Reflect360 version that had zippered detachable arms.
