I bought two packs of 3 of these battery powered motion sensor lights 6 months ago and I love them. AAA batteries have not yet been changed. I took 3 to my parents' house because my dad tripped and fell getting up in the middle of the night - he didn't want to turn on the lamp because it would wake mum up, but he didn't like using the "always on in the dark" They had a night light because he likes to sleep on pitch black nights. They are PERFECT for her, dad loves them. I tucked one on each side of the bed, right under the bedside table, so they only turn on when someone's feet touch the floor. There's another one at the foot of the bed, right under the bed so Dad has a light around the bed at night. I like that they are square because if you just put them on the floor they will stand on their own.
