Loud. It's not at all quiet as advertised. Constant squeaking noise, the compressor is very loud. In addition, when the air conditioner is turned on, the fan, whether it is running automatically or on, will turn off along with the air conditioner, so the start-stop will wake you up while you sleep - continuous fan operation is not possible. And also the temperature. Doesn't seem right. My B&D set at 68 cooled the room down to 68. This unit, set to the lowest setting of 61, reads the room thermometer at 70. It's just not a very good device. At least not the ones I had. Found the B&D model better, quieter and cooler (both same BTU so no BTU issue)
