Review on ๐Ÿณ OXO Good Grips Red Pressure Cooker Bakeware Sling: Convenient and Versatile Cooking Assistant by David Cronin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as versatile as I was hoping but great for desserts

I used either a foil sling or a makeshift sling I made by cutting the sides off a silicone steamer. These options work but are not very stable when removing an item from a pot. This OXO sling looks very well made and strong with a nice wide and solid base for stability. I removed a few stars because I found I can't use a sling with a higher stand. The strap handles affect the pot's ability to withstand pressure even when the handles are locked together. There are times when I prepare sauce/liquid at the bottom of a pot and like to place a bowl rack with something else on top (like rice). Having a sling to pull this bowl out is highly desirable, but it just doesn't work with that sling, which is disappointing. The only coaster that seems to work with the strap is the one that came with the pot, but it doesn't fit as it has too little slack for what I described. So this sling isn't as versatile as I was hoping, but it's really good for making cheesecake or pies (no need for a stand under the sling). Other reviews say the sling keeps odors in, so I'll only use mine for dessert or oatmeal.
