Works but could be better.

Bought and received in time for a short trip to the coast, the weather was moderately hot (80 degrees Fahrenheit) but very humid (the occasional occasional shower). Simply put, it worked, but it could have been better. The biggest advantage is of course the Peltier/TEC cooling plate: + Warming up could be noticeably endured in short pulses. = The plate has to be in contact with the skin or you won't feel anything - Can't stay on all the time because the cooling system is ridiculously inadequate for the TEC. Simply put, a 20mm fan is too small. It needs a larger 30-40mm fan or two. The heatsink is also undersized and could have been increased by 10mm of fin height along with the fans, although this would have made it a little bulkier at the back. The plate itself is too flat. It should be slightly more concave or slightly more outward curving, or at an angle of about 10-20 degrees for more skin contact when lying naturally. This is because the whole thing is very heavy in the front, so only half of the plate rests against the neck. Speaking of two fans: +3 fan levels were sufficient for my purposes. + I could keep my clothes. - the masked face was supplied with tolerable air on medium and high settings, so I didn't feel like suffocating in muggy weather. When eating/drinking outdoors, the low setting was sufficient. Battery life: = Wasn't good, wasn't bad. It worked for as long as it took me (3 hours). + The device can be powered by a portable battery, so this way you can extend the battery life. If you do, buy an angled Micro Type-B charging cable (left corner in my case), otherwise the standard cable will raise the left side a bit higher than the right and put a little uncomfortable pressure on your collarbone. Final Thoughts: I've decided to keep this, although it may be wrong. It's pretty easy to take apart, and I could maybe 3D print an interchangeable backplate that would allow me to replace a larger heatsink and fans, and maybe adjust the headrest to elevate the front a little to make contact with it to improve the cooling system. Plate. Since I'm running it on a battery that I carry with my phone anyway, the decrease in battery life by adding a more powerful 30-40mm fan or two doesn't matter. However, these are additional costs that few people want to bear, and the downsides may be enough to turn off interested users.
