Review on πŸ”§ 2 Pack Bronze Ceiling Fan Replacement Parts 268S6: 3 Speed 4 Wire Pull Chain Switch for Ceiling Fans & Wall Lamps by Josh Clifton

Replaced my 3 speed fan switch with a Litex ceiling fan

I wish I had seen this product page first; would have saved me 2 hours of research and a wasted trip to the Home Depot. The key is knowing if this is the right switch to replace. The old switch had a Vendor ID that matched the ID listed in the product description. Ideal. I had 4 wires but then I had to determine if I had 2 or 3 capacitors for 3 fan speeds and I read dozens of switch specs on different websites. Seeing a match with the manufacturer's old model number (Wu Pin #E198635) was nirvana. TURN OFF the POWER SUPPLY (circuit breaker is better than wall switch) to the fan before performing or checking. You will need to remove the fan cover to access the switch, capacitor, and all wiring. When removing the old switch, be sure to pay attention to the purpose of the colored wires - in my case, L = black, 1 = white, 2 = brown, and 3 = purple. Then PULL without cutting the wires from the old switch. You can insert the wires into the new switch from the SIDE (use the smallest screwdriver to insert the brass colored contacts). I made the mistake of inserting through the top holes (not funny). In my case I used the screw boot that came with it (gold compared to my old antique which was too small for the new switch). Then reattach the fan cover. Turn on the circuit breaker and pull the switch.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubt
