The description of this hat states that it is suitable for both short and long hair. Don't believe it. I have short but thick hair and this cap did not protect against water in any way. From the start it was comfortable, not cramped. And water has arrived everywhere. I gave it to my neighbor to try, she has thick long hair. Same result. I gave it to my husband to test - short hair but a big head. He wanted to keep water out of his ears and thought the cap's ear function might suit him. Same problem, water got in and the hat just kept the water over your ears which is actually worse than wearing nothing. This hat didn't fit. We all followed the dressing instructions. Maybe this only works if you have a very voluminous hairstyle that you tuck into a hat. The only positive was that my husband liked the ear and nose plugs provided.
