I don't want to slander whoever did the wiring in this house, but the ethernet port is at floor level on the wall, which must be reached by lying on the floor and reaching through built-in shelves. It wouldn't matter much unless it was about 36 inches deep. A few weeks ago I had to replace my router and the cable that came with it was only about 2 feet long. I wanted the router to be on a higher shelf so I ordered this one. It arrived yesterday and I hooked it up right away. Now I can put the router in a safe place. This also came with a little velcro that allowed me to wrap some of the cables in a bun for a neater look.
