In short I have to say this lens is what you are looking for and you get what you pay for . Even though it's a third-party lens, you'll get amazing results. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and the results I've gotten are pretty amazing. Let's just analyze some pros and cons. BENEFITS: - Inexpensive compared to genuine Canon wide-angle lenses (10-22 f/3.5-4.5 for APS-C, 16-35 f/2.8 for FF) - Good focal length, 10-24mm 2 4x zoom (for wide-angle cameras) - Standard filter size, 77mm - Multiple mount options (for Canon, Nikon, Pentax) - Sturdy metal construction, unlike other lenses with plastic mounts that make them look cheap and fluffy - Contrast to many other lenses with flower shaped lens hood need to be shot with lens hood (and Canon ones are expensive compared to other brands!) - No vignetting or chromatic aberration - Compatible with many filters (I use Hoya HD CPL 77mm) without vignetting - Good Contrast in the images, excellent colors and good resolution - Construction makes it very easy CONS: - Mainly made of plastic - Variable aperture (f/3.5-4.5) - Unprofessional lens - Auto focus is a bit slow It's quite noisy and tepid t (don't choose a USM L lens at this price point) In terms of overall construction I have to say that if you're looking for a good wide angle lens (amateur or semi-pro) this lens is amazing. ) This is the lens you've been looking for. Compared to offerings from Sigma or Tokina, this Tamron sits at the top of third-party wide-angle lens options. Obviously this isn't a 16-35 f/2.8 L lens design ($1600 or less) but it's a competitive APS-C design on the market, best for me! Buy it without hesitation, this is the lens you were looking for.
