Poor quality, not worth the money.

I had higher hopes for anything labeled "made in Japan," but I was very let down. They exchanged it for a different lens of the same kind as part of the warranty. They didn't even argue with each other. In overall, he ended up being considerably better than expected. In conclusion, you really got lucky with that purchase.

Large wide angle SLR lens

I have owned this lens for over 4 years. It works great on my Canon 60D. The lens takes some getting used to. This is a specialty lens, not a universal one. That's why I don't use it when traveling. It also doesn't have VC like other Tamron lenses. I also have a Tamron 18-270 and miss the VC on that lens. Otherwise it will preform well. You need to pay more attention to make your photo look good. When you do, resolution and clarity are great. It is well suited as an additional lens. If you get…

Best value for money lens

I originally bought this lens, to focus more on landscape photography. I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile the zoom range has become for most occasions. Very happy with the performance and excellent value for money compared to Canon's equivalent price. One caveat to using the built-in flash: I used it with a Canon 7D to capture wide-angle interior shots for a real estate ad. By rotating it 10mm I got a "shadow" at the bottom of the image from the lens itself. In this case it's best to…

Great for indoors/landscapes

I chose this lens over the Sigma equivalent because of the extra 4mm. It might not sound like much, but in this area 4mm can make a big difference. Paired with a Canon 60D with an APS-C sensor it allows you to shoot architecture, interiors or landscapes with much more flexibility than a lens that starts at 17mm or 18mm, which many kit lenses do. The first time I used this was filming stationary planes parked at an airfield during an air show. Planes can be difficult to shoot due to their shape…

Good image quality, mediocre build quality

I have a second one. The image quality is good for the price and it has a better zoom range than the Canon equivalent, but the first one broke because a friend of mine somehow damaged the autofocus motor. When the autofocus switch is on, it spins the motor like all non-USM (ultrasonic motor) lenses, twists and turns too fast and hits the focus distance. The momentum of the engine was enough to tear off the gears. I only had the lens for a day. Now, after a year of wearing the lens, the…

A great wide-angle lens at a reasonable price

You'll be amazed at the sense of immensity that the 10mm focal length creates. The lens isn't as sharp as, say, a Canon 50mm f/1.4, but in a way I think that's an advantage - there's something about Tamron's silky smoothness that really works when you're shooting at such a wide angle. In the images captured with this lens, the sky caught my attention the most. I can capture vast landscapes *and* amazing cloudscapes in one shot. That alone changed my understanding of scene composition and opened

Simply Perfect Lenses

In short I have to say this lens is what you are looking for and you get what you pay for . Even though it's a third-party lens, you'll get amazing results. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and the results I've gotten are pretty amazing. Let's just analyze some pros and cons. BENEFITS: - Inexpensive compared to genuine Canon wide-angle lenses (10-22 f/3.5-4.5 for APS-C, 16-35 f/2.8 for FF) - Good focal length, 10-24mm 2 4x zoom (for wide-angle cameras) - Standard filter size, 77mm…
