I have a second one. The image quality is good for the price and it has a better zoom range than the Canon equivalent, but the first one broke because a friend of mine somehow damaged the autofocus motor. When the autofocus switch is on, it spins the motor like all non-USM (ultrasonic motor) lenses, twists and turns too fast and hits the focus distance. The momentum of the engine was enough to tear off the gears. I only had the lens for a day. Now, after a year of wearing the lens, the autofocus broke again. It fell about 4 inches from my bag onto the table (with camera attached, 7d) and somehow damaged it. The autofocus has become very tight. It has loosened up again and continues to work, but although I've been careful with it I'm disappointed with the build quality. However, the picture quality is VERY good. I really love taking pictures outside! If it weren't for the excellent value for money, I wouldn't give it 4 stars because the build quality is below average for this price range.
