Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Efficient Bike Transportation: Delta Cycle Bike Hitch for Pickup Trucks by Eric Garron

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works but could be better.

I bought this to take my 2015 Epic with me. Does what it's supposed to, but the dimensions are a bit smaller. Typically the fork is designed for a 100mm span and has lugs on the top of the through holes to allow the fork to rest on a wheel or stand. The 15mm aluminum insert in this mount measures 98mm, while the mount itself measures around 97mm. As a result you have to hold the bike in line with the aluminum insert instead of putting it on the mount by pushing through the bolt. In addition, the aluminum insert includes a thin O-ring to prevent it from slipping out of the mount when not in use. However, I still feel the need to wrap a small lanyard to secure it as I don't want the insert to wobble and roll out of my truck bed as has happened with the quick release mounting bolts in the past when it doesn't was tightened when they are not inserted. use. All in all, my comments are rather minor. I can live with the fact that the insert will fall out, but the fact that the measurements are wrong seems to be a simple oversight of details. My Yakima fork adapter, which I keep in case someone else rides, works as it should and measures exactly 100mm.

Pros
  • Bike rack
Cons
  • Some bugs
