The original power cable that came with my rear view camera could not be connected to my rear view camera. So I bought this power cord. Why did I choose it? 1. The wires were individually sheathed. So if I needed to connect a 1" or 8" hookup wire, I could separate the two wires. 2. The wires were the right size. 3. The wires have been previously stripped. Okay, that was just a bonus. Everything went together perfectly and when I got this no-frustration cable it took me just a second to plug it in and connect it to my rear camera. Everything works. But I didn't need 8.2 feet. I could cut it down to half the length because the two wires are individually sleeved again. But I didn't cut it.
