Review on πŸ“Ό Maxell 290058 VHS Cleaner Dry: Powerful Solution for Spotless Video Playback by John Brouillard

If this is an updated version of Maxell, then this is GARBAGE!

I have been using this Maxell product for many years, model VP-100 part number 290058 and have been very satisfied with its performance. Thanks to this, all my VCRs have worked perfectly and I use them often. So far. I looked for it to back order and found that it doesn't look exactly like it does on the product page, but it was a Maxell and the model and SKU was the same as what I've bought in the past. I understand this is an updated package. And when I checked my past orders from Revain to make sure I got the same product, this was the link he found for my previous purchases. Oh, and the product info said the manufacturer was discontinued, so I figured Revain still had some surplus to sell. WRONG WRONG WRONG. The old cleaning tape had on-screen instructions, accompanied the process with graphics (you know, the ones with water dripping out of the TV and fish swimming around) and sound (first, sound check, etc.), and it worked for about 90 seconds. This piece of junk says to let it run for 20 seconds. It doesn't work for 20 seconds, maybe 10, then auto rewinds. And during those fleeting seconds, a blank blue screen appears and there is no sound. I bought three of these. My JVC let it play for 10 seconds, then automatically rewound, ejected the tape and shut down. The Panasonic VCR ate the tape and won't release it. Didn't try the third volume I bought (out of disgust). DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY. look elsewhere This is a complete robbery! And, yes, I'm PO'd.
