I like to wear them under my work shirt. I'm close to the water and at night when the wind blows in the shop my hands don't get cold, and when the doors are closed and the heating is on it doesn't get uncomfortably hot. So this is a good intermediate option. I've ordered a pair since my original purchase so I think I like them. Also, the hood is just as thin, so don't expect it to keep your ears warm, but it's still comfortable.
