Huge time saver, but be extra cautious with the tips.

It's so much faster to zero and tram my work in in my VMC. Seriously quick. I then re did all my tool offsets so that all of my tools are offset wrt this indicator and have a dedicated tool holder for it. Combined with a Z-setter, I was able to calibrate a dozen or so tools in about ten minutes.That said, it took less than 2 hours for my operator to break the tip off. I mean, I guess that's good that it protected the tool. but it does suck that the tips are so expensive to replace.

Good but tricky best in my review

Calibrating the probe tip was pretty tedious and it took a while to get a good handle on it, but once you get a feel for it things go much faster. It actually is very accurate. The only thing I can complain about is poor documentation. There is a screw inside the shank that provides friction for the alignment mechanism which is not mentioned in the documentation. As shipped it was so tight that alignment was impossible. After loosening it alignment went fine. WHY DIDN'T HAIMER MENTION THIS? I…

This is a wonderful device. Quick

This is a wonderful device. Quick, easy, and accurate. I don't think I've used a wiggler since I received this. But, buy an extra tip. You're going to break it. Tap it, drop it, move the table too far, and it breaks. I've done it once and am (more) careful now.

Solid unit, makes for center finding of blocks "fun" and easy. Using it in a Matsuura 800. The dial is large easy to see. The edge finder was impossible to see in this machine. Zeroing in the sensor is straight forward four set screws at top of the unit to adjust to your holder . Overall nice purchase.

precision instrument

This device works very well for precise edge detection. It is now the standard tool for edge detection on our CNC machining centers.

NO WARRANTY good for me

I bought a 3D taster in January, it has lost its calibration or it broke. Either way It is now about 0.002 off of true center. So I Called Haimer USA for warranty work. THEY HAVE NO WARRANTY! A customer can only return the product within the first week if the product was received defective. BUY THIS PRODUCT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
