Review on πŸ’‘ Enhanced Belkin 6-Outlet Wall Mount Surge Protector with Dual USB Ports: Efficient 1 AMP / 5 Watt Charging by Michael Jenkins

Very Good Socket Extender

I bought this item because I already had a 2 to 6 socket extender connected but it didn't have surge protector. When I saw the Belkin surge protector, I decided I should try it. I bought it to connect to my bed. At night I usually plug in my phone and other small devices to charge them. I also have a lamp, an alarm clock and a phone at home. I use USB outlets every night. They are more than enough to charge an iPod, iPad, cell phone or other small device. I use it every day for these items and have no problems. I've read some reviews from people saying that the surge arrester was sticking out of the wall too much or that it didn't sit well against the wall. Well I can say I played around with the install to see what it could be like and the only reason I could find for a bad install was removing the cover. This item is installed by removing the screw that holds the cover. Then connect the Belkin as usual with the lid on. The surge arrester has a longer screw that goes through the panel and screws into the socket in the same way as the previous screw. It is, and it installs beautifully. When you remove the pad the device doesn't sit flat, it moves towards you and just looks awful. It's also possible that if your outlets stick out far from the cover, this will result in the surge protector being positioned higher and farther from the wall. Installing and using this device is easy. I love that I have USB ports to charge my iPod, Android phone and iPad. I particularly like the fact that there is overvoltage protection. My electronics are important to me and losing them through a power surge can be a waste of time and money. I would recommend this unit to anyone and am even considering buying a few more for other rooms in my house.
