This iron is the first time I've spent more than $20-30 on an iron. I loved it for the shape of the sole which suited me as an impatient ironer and left handed. However, it has one fatal design flaw - the outer casing and legs are made of fairly flimsy plastic. The iron tipped over today after about 7 months of use and one side of the plastic leg broke off where it screws into the body of the iron. This is irreparable and since the iron can no longer stand, the iron can no longer be used. I'll admit that the place I kept it (on top of my dryer) might not have been the BEST place for it, but my last iron lived in the same place for almost 10 years. With a slightly stronger plastic for the leg details this could have been a Steller iron but from the looks of it I was very disappointed in its durability. The 1 year warranty will most likely write off the broken leg as "negligence" and so I'm stuck looking for an iron. UPDATE: My teenage son was able to bend the plastic leg in place and glue it back together. A few months have passed since the renovation. However, I remain of the opinion that the plastic body of the iron is a fatal design flaw and this iron will not outlive its predecessor.
