Don't be afraid to use the overflow. Common sense and proper sump/display setup will prevent overflow.
Has been working for about 3 months without any problems. It's pretty noisy to begin with, but I like modifying things and I found the Durso to be easy enough to make and install. I used braided flexible tubing which I glued directly to the bulkhead. Can't complain, it keeps the siphon alive when the power goes out and I check it every other day when I feed my corals/fish. It just works.
